3. Brainstorming What I can do?

5. How do I make decisions?
6. Application Do it!
7. Evaluation Did it work?

These seven simple steps can be applied to almost all kinds of problems in life. Let’s get into details with a problem in one of my clients:

Daniel is a patient of 52 years with depression and panic attacks. One of the main problems was leaving home to go for a walk or consult your doctor or therapist.

1. Problem Identification

Try to give an accurate description of their problems. You should try to focus on the behaviors or skills deficit.

2. Defining objectives

You should try to establish a precise objective of their efforts. This should be a realistic target for improvement (not “want to feel better”). Ask yourself: “What I want to change or accomplish in this time”

3. Brainstorm / Generate alternatives.

Try to think of every possible way to achieve your goal. Think about successful ways to solve problems or achieve their goals in the past. Use your creativity and not restricted in any way. Even absurd or unusual shapes worth considering.

Write all the alternatives on a sheet of paper!

4. Consider all the consequences.

Now is the time to think about the positive or negative consequences of all possible alternatives. Think of any difficulties finding or approaches.

This step can be divided into sub-steps:

1. What are the benefits? It is better to look before you see the advantages disadvantages, because if you start looking at the disadvantages that may come as Dissillusioned you can not think of the benefits.
2. Whare are the risks, which need to be careful, what problems can occur?
3. How do you feel intuitively about the alternatives?

5. Make your choice of an alternative possible!

It is important to make a clear choice and set a time limit for an attempt to reach your goal.

6. Do (Implementation of decision)

Do not worry about success. And just see what happens …

7. Evaluation

Now is the time to see what happened. If you have been successful: Fantastic! You should think of a reward for your efforts!
